The 7 summits challenge:

The Seven Summits refer to the highest peaks on each of the seven continents, representing a challenging and prestigious mountaineering achievement. Here’s a brief explanation of the Seven Summits:

  1. Mount Everest (Asia): The highest peak in the world at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), located in the Himalayas on the border of Nepal and Tibet.
  2. Aconcagua (South America): The highest peak outside of Asia, standing at 6,962 meters (22,841 feet) in the Andes mountain range in Argentina.
  3. Denali (North America): Also known as Mount McKinley, it is the highest peak in North America, reaching 6,190 meters (20,310 feet) in Alaska, USA.
  4. Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa): The tallest freestanding mountain in the world, rising to 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro is a non-technical climb, making it accessible to many climbers.
  5. Mount Elbrus (Europe): The highest peak in Europe, located in the Caucasus Mountains in Russia, with an elevation of 5,642 meters (18,510 feet).
  6. Mount Vinson (Antarctica): The highest peak in Antarctica, standing at 4,892 meters (16,050 feet) in the remote Ellsworth Mountains.
  7. Puncak Jaya (Oceania): Also known as Carstensz Pyramid, it is the highest peak in Oceania, situated in Papua Province, Indonesia, at 4,884 meters (16,024 feet). Some versions of the Seven Summits list this peak, while others include Australia’s Mount Kosciuszko (2,228 meters or 7,310 feet).

Climbers who successfully summit all seven peaks are recognized for completing the Seven Summits challenge, a significant accomplishment in the world of mountaineering.

Pre-Everest Triumph: Climbing South America’s Peak, Aconcagua

Prior to our expedition to Everest, we undertook the challenging ascent of Aconcagua, which stands as the highest peak in South America at 6,962 meters. This remarkable feat was accomplished in February 2019, with the summit reached on the 16th of that month, showcasing our dedication and preparation for high-altitude mountaineering adventures.

Top of the world: Mt. Everest (8848 mts.)

Aditi Vaidya, aged 25 in 2019, and Anuja Vaidya (the founders of Get Set Adventures), aged 21 in 2019, embarked on an extraordinary journey with a unique perspective – to climb the top of the world not for the world to see them, but for their vision to embrace the world. This dynamic duo scripted history by becoming the First Gujarati sisters to climb the towering summit of Mount Everest (8848 meters), marking their ascent on the monumental morning of 22nd May 2019 at 5:30 A.M. In achieving this remarkable feat, they also earned the distinction of being the Second sisters globally to accomplish this awe-inspiring ascent, etching their names in the annals of mountaineering history. Their ascent is a testament to the indomitable spirit of adventure and the pursuit of dreams against the backdrop of the world’s highest peak.

Getting to the Roof of Africa: Mount Kilimanjaro

Both the sisters, fuelled by their adventurous spirit, directed their ambitions towards Africa’s majestic peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 meters. Their triumphant ascent took place on the 14th of September at 7:30 am, marking a significant milestone in their mountaineering journey.

Peaks of Pride: First Gujarati Sisters to Climb Mt. Denali

On June 23, 2024, two determined sisters achieved an extraordinary feat by scaling the tallest peak in North America, Mt. Denali, which towers majestically in Alaska. Their achievement marked a historic moment as they became the first Gujarati sisters to stand atop this iconic summit, leaving an indelible mark on the mountaineering world.

Aditi Vaidya

Aditi Vaidya, an experienced adventurer, has successfully reached the summits of four peaks, of the Seven, showcasing her determination and skill in high-altitude mountaineering.

She has honed her mountaineering prowess through rigorous training at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. She has completed professional courses including the Basic, Advanced, and Method of Instruction courses, equipping her with the necessary skills and knowledge for challenging terrains and extreme conditions. She has also undergone snow-skiing course from Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering.

Beyond mountaineering, Aditi has a passion for water sports. She is proficient in water skiing, mastering the art of gliding across the water’s surface with finesse. Her expertise extends to the realm of underwater exploration, having completed a PADI certified course in Scuba diving. This certification ensures her safety and competence in exploring the mesmerizing underwater world.

Not content with terrestrial and aquatic adventures alone, Aditi has also ventured into the exhilarating world of paragliding. She holds certification in paragliding, enabling her to experience the thrill of soaring through the skies and capturing breathtaking aerial views.

In terms of academic achievements, Aditi’s credentials include a B.B.A from B.R.C.M College of Business Administration and an MSc in International Business from Queen Mary University London. She has also pursued specialized courses in Human Resource and Corporate Business Strategy from the prestigious London School of Economics, further enhancing her knowledge and expertise in business management.

Aditi’s journey exemplifies a harmonious blend of adventure, skill development, academic excellence, and corporate world, making her a dynamic and inspirational figure in the world of adventure sports.

Anuja Vaidya

Anuja has accomplished the remarkable feat of summiting seven of the seven summits.

Scaling Europe’s Apex: Anuja’s Triumph on Mount Elbrus

Anuja achieved a monumental milestone by climbing the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus, located in Russia. Her triumphant ascent culminated on the summit on the 7th of July 2019.

Indonesia’s roof: Adventure at Carstensz Pyramid

Anuja accomplished a remarkable feat by summiting Carstensz Pyramid, towering at 4,884 meters, located in Indonesia. Her awe-inspiring ascent took place on the 15th of August 2019 at 9:30 am, marking a momentous achievement in her adventurous journey.

Pioneering Heights: Historic Ascent on Mount Vinson Massif, Antarctica.

Anuja achieved a historic milestone by summiting Mt. Vinson Massif, towering at 4,862 meters, in Antarctica. Her groundbreaking ascent took place on the 15th of January 2020 at 5:30 pm, making her the FIRST Gujarati woman to conquer the top of the Antarctic continent.

Anuja Vaidya, has explored diverse terrains and challenges, showcasing her expertise and passion across various domains.

Mountaineering Triumphs: Anuja has scaled impressive peaks such as Manirang (6,593 meters) in Himachal Pradesh, demonstrating her skill and determination in high-altitude environments.

Professional Mountaineering Training: She has also completed rigorous professional mountaineering courses including Basic, Advanced, and Method of Instruction courses from the prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, enhancing her technical knowledge and safety skills.

Water Sports Mastery: Anuja is not only a proficient mountaineer but also excels in water sports. She holds a Basic Scuba Diving certification from PADI, allowing her to explore the fascinating underwater world with confidence. Additionally, she is an expert in water skiing, showcasing her agility and control over water-based activities.

Sky-high Adventures: Her adventurous spirit extends to the skies, where she has earned certification in Paragliding, experiencing the thrill of soaring through the air and embracing breathtaking aerial views.

Educational Background: Anuja’s academic achievements include a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (B.B.A) from B.R.C.M College of Business Administration, reflecting her well-rounded approach to life and learning.
