Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive from Srinagar to Panikhar

Distance – 185 km, Hours- 7-8 hrs, Altitude: 3,261 m

Starting early in the morning, the drive from Srinagar to Panikhar covers approximately 185 km and takes about 7-8 hours. The journey begins with picturesque views along the Indus River, leading to Sonamarg and then the high-altitude Zoji La Pass at 3,528 meters. After crossing the pass, you travel through Dras and Kargil. Kargil serves as the last stop for any essential purchases before reaching Panikhar, a serene destination surrounded by majestic mountains. The day ends with camping in alpine tents amidst the tranquil beauty of Panikhar.

Day 2: Trek from Panikhar to Denora

Distance – 12-13 km, Hours- 8 hrs, Altitude: 3,772 m

The trek to Denora begins after breakfast, covering a distance of 12-13 km over 8 hours. The trail ascends gradually alongside the river, winding through meadows and forests that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. A stream crossing awaits before reaching the campsite, which is nestled near the river and surrounded by mountains and lush meadows. This scenic location serves as the perfect spot to rest and soak in the natural beauty.

Day 3: Trek from Denora to Kalapari

Distance – 3 km, Hours- 2-3 hrs, Altitude: 3,917 m

This day’s trek is shorter, spanning 3 km and taking about 2-3 hours. It starts with stream crossings, where the cold water numbs your feet, adding a touch of adventure to the journey. The route includes crossing the 14,100 feet Marpo La Pass, offering spectacular views of the peaks. After a gentle descent, you reach the Kalapari campsite. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the nearby glacial lake or taking an acclimatization walk to prepare for the days ahead.

Day 4: Trek from Kalapari to Kaintal via Lomvilad Pass

Distance- 17 km, Hours- 12-13 hrs, Altitude: 4,420 m.

This challenging day involves a 17 km trek over 12-13 hours, crossing the Kalichik La Pass at 14,500 feet. The trail is a mix of narrow ridges, moraine sections, and steep descents. Starting from Kalapari, the route offers incredible views of the Nun and Kun peaks before descending into a beautiful valley. The day concludes at the Kaintal campsite, surrounded by serene landscapes.

Day 5: Trek from Kaintal to Humpet

Distance- 17 km, Hours- 8 hrs, Altitude: 3,389 m

The trek from Kaintal to Humpet spans 17 km and takes about 8 hours. The trail features continuous ascents and descents alongside the river, revealing the stunning landscapes of the Warwan Valley. After crossing multiple streams, you arrive at the Humpet campsite, nestled at an altitude of 11,120 feet, providing another opportunity to enjoy the valley’s tranquil beauty.

Day 6: Trek from Humpet to Sukhnai

Distance- 14 km, Hours- 8 hrs, Altitude: 2,841 m

The 14 km trek to Sukhnai takes around 8 hours, leading through the Sukhnai Valley’s lush vegetation. The trail begins with a climb followed by a descent and then continues alongside the confluence of the Kaintal Nala and Sheeshnag Lake. The scenic route passes overhangs and through picturesque farms before reaching the charming Sukhnai village.

Day 7: Trek from Sukhnai to Basmina/Chaudraiman

Distance- 16-17 km, Hours- 6-7 hrs, Altitude: 2,545 m.

The final trekking day covers 16-17 km over 6-7 hours. The descent through the beautiful Warwan Valley is moderate, with trails crossing streams and leading to the Rekenwas village, where you can interact with the warm and welcoming locals. The trek concludes at the Basmina campsite, located at 8,350 feet, amidst serene grasslands and the Marwah River.

Day 8: BUFFER DAY (IF NEEDED)

This day is reserved as a buffer to account for unforeseen delays caused by weather or other circumstances, ensuring the trek proceeds smoothly.

Day 9: Drive from Basmina/Chaudraiman to Srinagar

Distance- 155 km, Hours- 7-8 hrs, Altitude: 1,585 m

After breakfast, the drive back to Srinagar covers 155 km and takes approximately 7-8 hours. The journey traverses the captivating landscapes of the Warwan Valley, culminating in Srinagar by late afternoon. The trip ends with an overnight stay at a hotel in Srinagar, offering a moment to reflect on the unforgettable adventure.
